The Event
Avid golfers of all skill levels will "storm the desert" in search
of great golf, fun and prizes to participate in the 8th annual Desert Storm golf
tournament to be held September 10-13. Participants will enjoy 4 days and 3
nights of fun and excitement including magnificent golf at some of the best courses
the Phoenix area has to offer.
This event is a fun event and although there will be plenty of competition, it should not be considered a "competitive"
tournament. But if you love playing golf with great people and meeting
new friends, this is the ultimate event for you! The outing package includes
2 rounds of championship golf (plus an optional Thursday round), 2 meals including
the Saturday awards banquet dinner, transportation to/from events, great tee gifts
and the chance to win great prizes.
We will be using 90% of HC indexes for this event with a cap of 30 after the
90% adjustment.
Thursday, September 10
FireRock Country Club
Tee Times Starting at 11:00am
Optional Money Game - 2-man best ball teams (player selected)
Note: This optional round is $45 extra payable online or at course - money game is an additional $20 buy-in due at course
When it comes to designing golf courses, architect Gary Panks is no stranger to the breathtaking sites and FireRock Country Club is surely proof of this. The first thing a visitor to FireRock golf course will notice is its stunning panoramic city and mountain views, in addition to the tremendous amount of native vegetation.
In the architect's famous style, each hole takes on its own character and personality - you will be challenged every step of the way.
This round is optional and not included in the main package but it serves as
a great warmup for the big event. Of course, some Desert Stormers will tell
you that winning the optional "Money game" is the most coveted title at
the event.
But since
the winners must use their prize money to buy drinks for everyone afterwards, you
really can't lose no matter how you shoot. In fact, it may actually be better
to finish second! The optional buy-in for the money game is $20/player and will be collected at the course.
