Anyone here ever play this course here in Sedona? I'm here on vacation and I see that it is open to the public now. 90 bucks before 10AM and 70 bucks after 10. Is it worth the experience? Thanks

Ok, yesterday I played this course yesterday. The fee was $70 dollars. Which was a reduced fee since I'm staying at Los Abrig.ados resort(time share). Guard at entry to the course lets one in the entry gate after verifying that you are playing that day.
I arrived just before 6AM. One takes the cart from the parking lot and rides it over to the golf shop about 3/4 of a mile away.
Range is there also but was not set up till 6:10. Sprinklers still watering the range so it was hard to see the ball coming down. After warming up, I headed to the 1st tee. Another long drive back near the parking area. No starter. Joined 2 other players at the 1st tee. All 3 of us were new to the course. No info about the holes on the card and just a tiny picture on the back to show the course layout. No cart gps and my gps did not have this course on it, grrrrrrrrrr. Fairway to green yardages located on sprinkler heads, if you could find them. 200, 150 and 100 markers on the cart path only. 4 teeing areas to choose from. We chose white, which was called regular on the score card (5650 yds, slope 127). Greens were very slow and the fairways very wet in several locations. The course is in great shape. We all had some good holes but we did not score well. Their web site has a 3D hole by hole fly over. Found out that this once private course, designed by Tom Weiskopf, has been in bankruptcy for 2 yrs.
That is all.

We have been thinking about driving up there and playing that course. You did not really convince me it was worth it, probably play the Rim instead.

Played it a few times and for my money, the prettiest non-ocean course I have ever played. Just spectacular with the red rocks all around you. Course itself has a some quirky holes and is more good/very good than excellent but scenery is just off the charts in my book.

I'd play it again in a heartbeat.

Yes Suff, I don't think it is worth the drive or money to play. Some of the views are great but I think the red rock views at Oak Creek golf course are way better. Try Rancho Manana up in Cave Creek. They have some nice views. Green fees are $33 bucks weekdays and $39 weekends. Course is great shape and a ral golf challenge even from the whites.

Played Rancho Manana on one of my Phoenix trips. A very nice golf course in very good condition. Stone Ridge is very nice, and can be very difficult. And the Dinosaur at Gold Canyon is always a fav.

Stone Ridge is a putt-putt course, too tricked up.
