Congrats to Webb, nice last round to take it.

Hated to see the kid let the media give him a bighead and not only not win the tournament but didn't get low am either, since that was his original goal. Would have liked him to get a better payoff than he did from the first 3 rounds.

Like I had said before Sat has been Wood's bad day, to bad he let Sun jump in there as well this time, would have like to seen a real showdown.

Very bad putt Graham hit on the 18, total misread, very surprised on that.

Couldn't believe that Jim actually hit a shank out of the bunker on the 72 hole, he really lost it on the last 3 holes.

I thought that was a shank too!

Jesus Freak will win.

As long as he doesn't say that his religion somehow helped him to win I really can't see the harm.

and there's the rub my friend

I got a last minute ticket and was there yesterday. Spent most of my day at the 12th tee and 10th green. Almost everybody hit driver on 12 and I was about 10 feet away on the ropes. Standing so close it felt like I was playing the round with them.

And finally, I don't like Olympic Club as a golf course. To quirky IMO.

Sorry I missed you, but then again, maybe I didn't? I was at the 18th green most of the time, but did get out to the landing area on 9 and a couple other spots. Saw the great 2nd shot on 9 by Oreo Kukido (or maybe his name is Ishakawa). I agree on your assessment of the course, but it's typical of the Bay Area. Lush grass, lots of trees and not a level lie in sight. Fun to be there, but 3 hours of freeway crawling, each way, to drive between two places that are only about 20 miles apart pretty much did 'er in for me - no more Opens in the Bay Area for this kid.

it was a half buried lie and he's trying to make it, I think he should get a pass on the hosel rocket

Yep, with where we came from it was 4 hours to get there and 3 1/2 to get home. Left at 3:45 am and didn't get home till almost midnight. Fun to do once though!

It looked like the normal trajectory of my buried lie bunker shots...I thought that's how it was supposed to be done.
