Thoughts and prayers for the Beast Landon. Glad he is in good spirits and up for the challenge, that is a good sign.

Is he an FGI member? If he ever needs a stranger to sound off on, PM me.

I read success stories every day, people worse off than him, and a last resort bone marrow or stem cell treatment and they made a complete recovery. Prayers for him. Let us know what his diagnosis is. He may want to consider a little travel.. Mayo clinic, Moffit center, etc...

Fighting cancer myself,

Great update, LB! YOU can impart strength to him in ways NO ONE else ever could, and hopefully the masses, here, impart strength to you so there's more to give to Beast. This is what it's all about... people coming together for a great cause, and there are lots of them to be found here.

I haven't responded much...but I have been following this one, and hope and pray for a miracle for Beast.

UPDATE:

They moved Beast out of the Hospital 2 days ago into Dillonvale Health Care center so they can get him up, moving and strength back. He still has the 2 stents in his kidneys, goes to dialysis 3 times a week and have started him on chemo treatments once a week. He's in good spirits and still acts like Beast to me. We've had some good laughs and brought back alot of old memories that I had literally forgot about. His sisters told me (and this touches my heart) that of all the people that visit, I'm the only one that when I come, brings tears to his eyes. We've had so many good times together. He's in for a battle we know this, but he seems to be up for the challenge.

I want to thank all my FGI family for the thoughts and prayers as every little bit helps.

Update: The "C" is stage 3. I'm ignorant and didn't ask what that meant. Not sure if I want to know. We're having a benifit today for Beast to help raise some money to help with his medical expenses. He's going to get to come for a little while. The chemo's been rough on him mixed with dialysis.

Sad thing....they rushed his youngest Sister (She's 45) to the hospital Wednesday, 1 of her kidneys had started to shut down.....she was diagnosed with stage 3 cervical "C". Tumor the size of a small football. I spoke to her this morning and she's tough. She's known and had all the symptoms for a while and I got this out of her 2 months ago, but she wouldn't go to the Dr.

I had another old friend who I hadn't seen for a while die 2 weeks ago from "C". I never even knew he was sick and found out 2 days prior to him passing.

What's next?

Beast actually got to come today for a couple hours. It was a GREAT turnout and raised a good amount that will help out a bunch.

Sadly, Kathy (his sister) couldn't be there, but we got her on the phone. She is a positive soul, bless her heart.

Well, I saw and talked to Beast yesterday. He came up to me and started crying. He tells me He finished his chemo and went for his PET scan last week and the cancer has grown larger and spread. He looks terrible and he's scared. All I could do was hug him and tell him I love him. This after he's been doin' so well. Has been home for weeks and his kidneys working and got some of his strength back and had been gettin' out some and around. He goes to see another specialist Friday to see where they go from here. It doesn't look good. I saw him at another best friends Mom's layout who passed Friday at the age of 73 after a short battle with C.

His sister who was diagnosed with cervical cancer 1 month after his diagnosis isn't doing well either. She has a tumor "the size of a football". I talked to her by phone last week as she doesn't want to see anybody. She's lost 100 pounds in about 6-8 weeks. They keep tellin' her if she doesn't gain some weight she's not going to be able to fight because of the radiation and what not. She told me she just can't eat.

I have the feeling this isn't goin' to be a very good next few months.

From this statement Landon it sounds like You are where He needs You as a Friend.

Love and support is more important. Hugs and Holds are at the top of the list.

My prayers to You and thru You!
