Why would the OEM company be upset? Longest drive of the day and accomplished with a driver that came apart?
Sounds like material for a great ad

Since amateurs actually buy them for hundred's of $ durability flaws are embarrassing. It will not reduce sales and the distance does help. Also many of us build clubs so it helps our ego's when tour builders miss one, which is very rare.
