GEA used to be the main golf site for me, with FGI a close 2nd. However, about 9 months ago or so, a bunch of people migrated over from the Golf Channel forum, and the site completely changed. It just became toxic with all the negativity and antagonistic attitudes. I stopped visiting there about that time, just to save my sanity. It's too bad, as I was there from the very beginning, and made some good friends there.

So FGI is now #1 for me. It's much more civil here, and there is still a bit of component talk, which is what I am really into.

Can't argue that the closing of the Golf Channel board was a bad thing, but the GEA is not that bad as a result at this pointThere have been a few posters who were given a vacation or banned as a result of their behavior and rightfully so. The world doesn't need Ken Pitts type stupidity on every golf discussion board.

Been on GEA since 2001 and it is just a shadow of what it used to be. Been here about 8 years and it too has become less that it was the first years I spent here. Perhaps it is just my personal observation and others will disagree.

GEA and FGI have both slowed down from what they used to be when I joined them in 2004. Topics that were on the first page of the clubhouse in the morning were on page two or three by lunch time. Now, you can sometimes read two days worth of posting and still be on the first page. I still go to both each day, but I spend more time reading golfwrx as it's just more active.

For most your posts, jeffw's and others in the Wishon forum are above the average guys knowledge....Richard and heaven knows clubfitting is dead so why care?

You (Richard) should post on the ICG forum as to why many so called of the uppity upper crust of club fitters don't use MoI matching and stuck in 1/2" length graduation and swing weight matching. For myself, I found that one facet amazing.

FGI and Sandtrap are my favs..

Golfwrx is full of a bunch of "tour pros" that all drive the ball 300+ and hit their 7 iron 200+ yards...
don't get me wrong.. there is alot of good info on their site/forums..

Occasionally, possibly but anyone interested in facts rather than hype & BS probably needs to check it out ...

Only because many of them are apparently too stuck in their ways to want to try to learn something new .... the day I start feeing like that is when I probably need to get out of this business !! Can't say that I'm overly-impressed with what I've seen of the ICG anyway ....
