Heading down to Louisville again this year for Memorial weekend. It has been three years so I am looking for a golf course review update. Played Heritage Hills last time and really like it but, I heard the greens are in bad shape this year. I will be staying near Vallhalla and do not want to drive to far.

Thanks

Nevel Meade (links style course) is in very good condition. If you are in the area on Monday am (28th) and wish to play NM, send me an email or PM and I would love to join up with you. I am tied up on Saturday and Sunday that weekend. I am a member and can get a tee time well in advance of the general public. They have a web site which gives an overview of the course if you are not familiar with it.

I would say stop in to visit the boys at Louisville Golf and they might be able to get you on Persimmon Ridge CC.......

It has been a while since I have played any of the munis, but based on your location when you stay in Louisville you may want to try Charlie Vettiner Golf Course. It is a good test of golf and the last I heard it was in good shape. However, it has been several years since I played the course.

Another course to consider is Quail Chase. They have three nines and it is also in the area of Louisville where you will be staying.

Regardless, you should try to get a tee time as soon as you can. We have a lot of golf courses in the area, but on holidays they can book up quickly. Enjoy you visit

Yes, several times, but it has always been in a scramble. It is different playing in a scramble, but I always enjoyed the outings and the course. Once when we played it in late summer the rough was very dry and hard, but it was during an exceptionally hot and dry period. One thing will always remember is I had a Winn grip (original) on a driver. I had cleaned it with soap and water the evening prior to the first scramble and first time I played the course. When I took a practice swing on the first hole my driver flew into the little pond in front of the first tee. I did not know it would not dry out and would be as slippery as an greased pig. We fished it out, but it was the last time I ever played a Winn grip. The rest of the round I borrowed a driver from a team mate.

This time of year the course should be in nice condition as we have had very nice spring weather.

I just played Vettiner two weeks ago and it was in good shape. It has a new clubhouse and I like how it is laid out. Quail Chase will probably be packed this weekend. Nevel Meade is a kick in the pants; I really like that course.

Long Run is close to where you're staying. I played Long Run that on the same weekend as Vettiner and it was in pretty good shape. A couple of holes on the back were a little rough, but it is a muni. Long Run has a pretty simple layout and plays pretty straightforward. You can get into trouble, but only if you're really crooked.

Weissinger is almost impossible to get a tee time before noon. Look into the Henry County Country Club. Very nice shape and open to the public.
