I found a good deal on one of the these. It is HUGE. Thought it would be fun to try!

Anyone use one currently or some time ago that would like to share their experiences?

Much appreciated.
Thanks.

I've been using a 15 for ages, like five years or so. Bad news is if you love it, you will get made fun of for it. Good news...you'll probably putt well with it. If you can stomach the ridicule, mine was a game changer. Mine is pretty heavily customized too...100g counterweight under the hands, and the head is up to 445g with a CNC milled slug in the center channel underneath.

Bought the DOC 17 brand new when they came out. Friends made fun of me, they called the thing the dinner plate though. I had more free dinners on long putt bets they lost to me. It was a great putter, I drained some of my longest puts with it, and it was always a smooth swinging putter. I often think about the days I had that thing, wish I wouldn't have traded it in.

I only had two problems with it.

1. The thing was F'in huge and took up a lot of bag space area.

2. Keep it dried off, I had it where moisture got under the protective coating on the head and it started to kind of get little spots all over it. (Called ping after owning it 3 years and they replaced it with a new one for free )

I ended up moving from the doc 17 to a scotty newport 2.5 only due to bag space issue. The doc preforms.

Good for you !

I would not know what to do with that half a plate.
I tried it when it came out and have a difficult time deciding where on the face to put the golf ball. A great design by the scientific reasoning but just not for me.

I sold my Doc17 last year. I found it easy to tell if I lined up well just had some trouble with distance control but that's not the putters fault. Great conversation piece.

If I remember those, they approximated the size of about half of a Pizza Hut Personal Pan Pizza. That the one?

A bit larger than 1/2 of the personal pan pizza, or you could stretch the dough a little.

Thanks fella's for your comments! I love a good teasing so when I try it out I will enjoy
the laughs that go with it.

It sounds like a pretty good putter. I can use all the help I can get

More good news: You can ditch your umbrella. Just stretch some plastic over the Doc and you're good to go for rain showers.

j/k Let us know how it works for you. I can see it being great for some strokes (SBST), but not so for a strong-arc type stroke. What have you been playing recently?

LOL, I will have to put some plastic in my bag! That should work nicely

I have a SBST style and have been using a M5K or TM Rossa Inza.

Maybe I can find the sweetspot on this putter...it must be a couple of inches big right.
