It might be the curmudgeon in me that prevents me from falling in love with all the brandy shiny new toys at the local demo day. Either that or I have been ho-ing long enough to learn that graphite, steel and titanium can only be tweaked but so much. Any way, I hit a BUNCH of new clubs today and found NOTHING that exceeds the feel and performance of my PING G10 equipment. Irons, hybrids, fairways and drivers. The 4 clubs I spent the most time with were: 1. PING G20 irons, graphite soft reg in my blue color code: looks, feels and launches exactly like my G10s with graphite, soft reg, blue dot. 2. PING K15 driver, 10.5, TFC graphite reg - got the same numbers as my G10 Draw, graphite reg, only the G10 sounds and feels better than the K15. 3. Adams Speedline Fast 12 draw driver, graphite reg: looks and sounds and feels AWFUL (to me). Ball flight was .....meh. The previous Speedline and Fast10,11 products are MUCH better IMHO. 4. Adams A12OS 7 iron in graphite senior - I liked this club and would consider it a gamer for me, but no better than the G10. so, I bought nothing..................

We just had a Adams demo day at our club and hated the stuff. I felt sorry for the guy running it as nobody was stooping. Adams makes some good hybrids (IMHO) but the irons and woods are nothing special.

I agree that there's not much difference in equipment the last few years that'll make the average hackers game change all that much. However, like you I do like to have a few drivers to rotate in the bag. I like Cobra drivers (own 5 as of now). I like my drivers to play at 45" so I don't like the longer shafts and lighter heads that seem to be the norm lately. I recently sent my S2 head back to Cobra to be hot-melted and will most likely do the same with the AMP head. I do like the shaft interchangeability that the hosel adapters allow. I recently picked up a Pro Launch Blue at Dick's pretty cheap to go along with the UST V2, Axivcore Blue, Diamana Red (stock from an L5V) and the other Cobra stock shafts. The UST V2 HL you have on the G10 is a good shaft IMO. I have that shaft on a 2007 Cobra F Speed. The Axivcore Blue replaced that shaft and is a good shaft also. None of the 5 Cobra's are any longer than the other. I've hit great drives and crappy drives with all of them. Similar to a person who owns several cars, it's fun to have the option of playing something different from time to time.

I really like the G10 hybrids more than the newer versions myself although I love my ol' reliable snake eyes

ORIGINAL: letthebigdogshunt Got a demo day coming up the 28th of this month. Taylor Made, Cobra, Titleist, Adams, Nike, Ping and Callaway with be there. I just enjoy going around and looking at all the different clubs. I don't usually hit much ]because it is a zoo at the driving range during these demos. I am pretty much set with what I have in the bag and am not looking for anything unless something pops up by chance. I know, right? Fortunately for me, we had a cool, windy day with a threat of rain, so the turnout was the lowest I have ever seen. I hit a lot of clubs/balls and was still outa there in an hour.

I went to a local day 2 weeks ago and fell in love with the G20's and ended up getting them last week ( not here yet though) I've never had a PING club before although I've always liked them. The Demo day was a lot of fun, nice warm day, wasn't too crazy but i'm not afraid to get up there and hit in front of a bunch of people either.

I agree that Fast 10 FW clubs was their peak performance. Over time, I bet their used value will hold better than the Fast 12.

The Fast 12 driver has a tinny and weak sound feel at impact. I hit 2 balls and gave it back to the rep. The launch and flight was "ok" (meh), however. The orig Speedline and the Fast 10 have that nice solid "thwack" sound from back in the day (Titelist 983K - ish), as does the G10. I have a Speedline Fast 11 driver that is a small move towards the tinny sound of the Fast 12. It will be for sale soon.
