know we understand the rift between Elk and Bubba. At least Elk had enough character to apologize to Bubba for treating him so poorly when he first came out on tour.

...saw the Bubba interview with david F last night. He is refreshingly honest and a GREAT Masters champion. Since his notible skill, that no one else on tour has, is his ability to hit 40 yard cuts and hooks at will, I was expecting more questions from david around this. I think he learned this as a small boy using plastic golf balls around the yard. I hope he does not cry next time he wins. ..it is not necessary.

...the tears on the first PGA win were OK because dad was ill, but now they are a tad theatrical and not necessary. By now, he should realize that he has a unique "given" skill that not many amung us have..... ...we rarely see this emotion on the LPGA ?? I think he can win a few major events even though he is not in his early 20s.... some people develop later....

In 2007 he finished 5th at the US Open and was one stroke off the lead starting the Saturday round. He is a player that can shoot lights out when his is on a role. If you look at his performance since he turned pro in 2003 he has steadily improved. His game is not conventional and to a number of people that is a road block to considering him a potentially great player. From his statements even Bubba questioned whether he could win a major with "his" game. However, he did it. I really don't think it was a fluke win when you look back at his performance. It will be interesting to watch, but it may well be the mental break through he needed to play "Bubba" golf the way he knows he can.

Bubba's tee shots have consistently been the longest on tour and they hit the fairway often. .....his ability to cut and hook shots is phenominal. When his irons are "on" and his putter is hot, he can beat the best. I don't beleive Zach Johnson or Geoff Ogilvy, for example, are capable of winning a bunch of majors, but Bubba has the physical skills and the mental ability to do this....
