Karma cheap and a fantastic grip seriously you can buy 4 velvets for the price of 1 of the lamkins. I get mine from Valuegolf with FGI discount.

+1 I've been playing karma velvets (white). Also like the tacki mac wraps. Used to use the tacki mac itomics previously and might switch back o ly because I miss the tacky feel they provide.

I have always liked Lamkin Crossline Midsize but like you I decided to try something else. I recently regripped an iron set with Tacki-Mack Itomic Midsize Wraps. Like them a lot so far. Smoother feel than Crosslines yet tacky. If you keep them clean they stay super tacky. I can't speak to durability yet. Also just tried a Lamkin Permawrap Classic Midsize on a driver and it's similar. Not quite as super tacky but plenty of grip and I don't use a glove. The real test will be when it gets really hot here in Texas in a couple more months.

Tried the Itomic and when they came in they were left on my porch in the sun. When I opened up the box the grips were oozing a liquid. I had cut my hand before opening and what ever was oozing out of the grip must have gotten into my system and I was very allergic to it. So after spending quite a bit of time getting rid of the cause of the allergy, I cut the test grip off and never played with them. Gave them away to a friend. I have seen a lot of good things written about these grips, but they just RUBBED me the wrong way. Thanks for answering though and for your input.

Well, forget that recommendation. The Permawraps are very nice, too. I guess I better not leave those clubs in the sun!

Golfsmith Medalist midsize. Very tacky, durable, nice feel, and relatively cheap.

GP Tour Velvet...I know...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Started golf with them a dozen years ago and always liked them...tinkered with many others, but perhaps due to those club-hoing years past came to appreciate the constancy of the same grip year after year.

Lamkin PermaWrap (although I've used standard Crosslines quite a bit in the past) - offer plenty of grip and are very durable (going by past experience, I expect to get three or four years out of them, and I play at least twice a week).

I'm using the Oversize version, switched to them from the Lamkin Crossline Jumbo's about 6 years ago. My current set, the grips have been good for 2 years, with almost no wear; my previous set of irons have had the grips on for 4 years, very little wear, even playing twice a week.

Karma Velvets (White). Just didn't want to experiment with a shaft(s) only to leave an expensive grip on. However, the Karmas are nice and I have no complaints. I have some Lamkin N-Durs waiting on the sideline.

Golf Pride Dual Durometer. I like the feel and they last quite a long time if you keep them clean. I keep hearing they don't make these anymore, but they're still on Golf Pride's web-site. They're recommended if you have joint issues. I'll use this grip for as long as they're still available.

More than just zzzzzzzzzz, I really think you can do better for the money. I have found the Karma velvet grips from Hireko and the Medallist velvet grips from Golfsmith to be just as good, if not better, for a lower price. The Medallists are a little "rougher" and tackier (sort of between a Tour Velvet and a Lamkin Crossline black) and IMO, last much longer. The Karmas are maybe slightly tackier but very close and amazingly inexpensive. You should check 'em out.

Agree with Jay. Karma Tour Velvet is as good as GP Tour Velvet and much better price. If you like to re-grip your clubs on a regular basis. Karma Tour Velvet is what I would choose to go with.

Thanks guys, I am not worried about price so much and I do try to regrip at least once a year. Most of the Tour velvet grips I have used over the years seem to lose their softness and tackiness. I played GP Tour velvets for about 5 years but went away from them for that reason. I play as many rounds in a year as most people play in three years maybe even more. Being retired I play about 150 rounds a year but I also practice at least once or twice a week as well. even really good grips have a hard time holding up to that amount of golf. Plus I just love the feel of new grips on the clubs as well. I also putter around with my clubs a lot and I enjoy regripping them too. At any given time I can have 3-4 different grips (at the same time) on my clubs because I am trying out new grips. Right now I have Star, Lamkin Crossline, Wynn lite, Wynn drytac lite. The two Wynn grips are ones I am testing now.

ltbdh--I think the point would be if you play 150 rounds a year is that you need to re-grip more often than once a year. Many pro's re-grip every 3-4 weeks. Then, cost does get involved. My choice re-grip every 50 - 60 rounds and use Karma Tour Velvet. The cost of the higher priced Winn's, Lamkin's etc. preclude that for most.
