I am on a 4 hybrid quest so I picked up this Snake Eyes 695 24* head up this winter. Was able to get it for ~ $30 on sale so not the $38 list, but still a relatively pricey head. I swapped in a different weight screw to bring the head weight up a bit and stuck in an Apollo Acculite 85 R built to 39" with Premio (white) grip. Yesterday wasn't the best day to hit the range as only the mat area was open and the wind was blowing good....it got cool really fast! I brought my current Wishon 775 and a Nak NX-1 4h as well for comparison.

Looks: This is a typical Snake Eyes high quality sharp looking. It's almost $40 list, but it looks to be of higher quality than a $20 from Hireko. I'm not knocking Hireko as I like their stuff, but this head looks as good as or better than most OEM stuff. I'm not a fan of all the new white heads (sold my white 919), but I do like the contrast from the black face to the white crown. I think the head maybe does look a bit larger just because of the white, but it's more of midsize hybrid IMO. It's similar in size to the Nak and maybe slightly smaller than the Wishon. The white head and white grip was a bit too much white for my taste, but overall it's sharp looking.

Feel/Sound: Ok this was a bit disappointing for me. The looks justify $40, but the feel is no better than a $20 head IMO. It's not a bad feel, it's just got nothing on the Wishon or Nak. It's a VERY solid feel and no matter how you strike it you just get a "thwack". There is no sweet little ting like you get with the Wishon or Nak. The SE 695 has a cup face, but you don't feel it. If you like solid this is maybe the most solid hybrid head I've felt. It was actually tough to tell where on the face I'd hit it.

Performance: Tough to judge in the windy conditions to be honest. I hate hybrids in the wind and it was blowing hard into and a bit from the left. I had to sting a 5i really low and hard just to get it out by the 150 marker and that's usually a smooth 7i for me. All the hybrids were ballooning, but this one did seem the easiest for me to hit lower for some reason. My 1st several shots were actually really thin. I don't know if it's the white head or lighter weight of this club, but I really had to concentrate to stay down on it and I tend more to fat shots than thin. Despite the same solid feel everywhere I found this club pretty forgiving. I've only played golf once so far this year so my swing isn't great...and I'm just under a 14 index so it's not great any way...but I was hitting all the hybrids decently. I definitely line this one up better than the Wishon maybe due to the black/white.

Overall I like this club head, but not sure it's quite what I want. I really like the shape, alignment and performance, but I don't care for the white color or the feel/sound. I do think I could get used to those, but I know the ho in me would keep looking for a head that meets all the criteria. The feel/sound of the Wishon is sooo much better, but I have to say I probably hit the Snake Eyes better overall. The Nak is maybe inbetween as it feels better than the 695, but not as good as the 775 and I align it better than the 775, but maybe not as good as the 695.

Kcee, great review. Can't wait to see another review of the 695 under better conditions.

Yeah I was going to play it tonite in league, but it's just as windy today so I may bag the 4i instead. The 1st 3 holes are almost always into the wind and many times I'd use the 4h for the 2nd shot on 10 and off the tee on 11, but I'm pretty sure whatever I hit will need to fly low. Hopefully I can get to the range again soon and hit off the grass when it's nicer out.

How much do the Nak and Wishon heads cost?

Wishon 775HS is slightly more but is a higher tech head high COR. You can tell the difference in the playability and performance of a 775HS head and most others. I think kcee did a fair review of these. I have not hit the SE 695 hy head but I have a friend who has one in his bag and has hit my 331H's which are much the same size and shape. He hits my 331H's better and is thinking of trying some of the 331H's and one 775HS.

Yeah Wishon is just hair under $50 and the Nak was $40 although not sure what the MSRP of the Nak is and I didn't actually even pay $40. I'm not trying to trash the Snake Eyes head, but based on the price and specs I was expecting a sweeter feel. If I closed my eyes I don't think I could tell the difference from the Snake Eyes to the last HIreko hybrid I hit in terms of feel and sound. Of course I think Hireko makes some really nice stuff for the price. Just my opinion though and if you like a very solid feel then the SE 695 is it. I'm really just nitpicking as I prefer the shape of the SE 695 over the Wishon and Nak and it performed every bit as well.

I actually hit the 331H a bit better as well although I think it's mainly easier to align than the 775HS. Neither looks quite right to me though. As much as I love Wishon stuff, I haven't loved the look (at address) of any of their hybrids although they do perform very well. The 775HS is the best feeling/sounding hybrid Wishon has had and it is easy to hit so I've been hesitant to give it up.

To me Wishon hybrids are some of the best heads they produce and better than Infiniti's and Alpha's and a number of others. Then, add the .335 hybrid shafts. I can't think of a better minor brand that has a better hybrid line-up?

I don't disagree. I thought the original 321Li was (still is) a great head, but I've always had trouble hitting the Wishon hybrids straight. The best performing hybrid for me was a Cleveland Halo and I probably should revisit that. Or maybe ream the 775HS to .370 and reshaft? I am still on the hybrid hunt!

Update: Swapped in an Apollo Acculite 95 for the 85 and it made a noticeable difference in feel for some reason. Still a muted solid head, but there was a hint of sweetness to it. The extra heft definitely felt better too. I don't have much experience with either of the Apollo shafts; both are R flex, but I tipped them a little extra. The 95 was in an Adams hybrid, but it didn't seem all that great there. Just one range session with the club, but it felt great immediately and I'll put it in play for 9 holes tonite.
