Freddie has been doing this for some time and this is related to his bad back; right? Anyway, it looks like Ernie Els is doing this too this week.... Why?

Ernie's been wearing those shoes for a long time Robert. If they are the Foot-joys, they'd have soft spikes in any case. They're just more comfortable and may well provide some relief for a bad back.I just like the look of them, regardless.

I often play in my running shoes - I swing easy anyway - as long as it's dry, no traction issues. They are easier on my back and knees.

Seems to be the latest fad now - check your latest Edwin Watts or TGW catalog - the shoes section will show FJ and Adidas with their version of "street/golf" shoes - casual style, nubby cleats. They look comfy! When the prices drop, I'll probably give 'em a try.

I have a pair of Ecco Biom's. No back pain and they are extremely comfortable!

Yesterday I bought a pair of Chuck Tiger Taylor Woods at Bartsch's footwear. Comfy...but I can't see the soul.
