That'd be Copper Creek. Best greens (condition-wise) we've played this side of Royal Ashburn.

For the $$ I'd take Ballantrae over Osprey; unless Osprey is Tour quality. I've got high expectations of expensive courses having played Forest Dunes in Roscommon, MI. For $60 including range, cart, and greens that ran at 11.5.

just played a private Pete Dye trac yesterday here in South Carolina...greens were running 12.5 and played 2nd from back at 6925, so hard to hold hitting 5 and 6 irons into most par 4's

I actually prefer the faster greens for putting, only 2 three putts, 7 -1 putts, including a 2 incher for bird on a par 3, rolled off the pin

Osprey is nice but for that price we might as well play Copper Creek again

Forest Dunes was incredible. Cleaning up 4 footers, because you just had to keep the face square and rock the putter a little. No huge swing or trying to bang the ball into the cup - you could just stroke it. I made putts from 16 and 20 feet, because I didn't have to set my wrists just to putt the ball that far.

I think if I putted on greens like that, I'd be 4 strokes better than I am. I played my new home course when I got back and left a half dozen putts out there because of shaggy, slow, bumpy greens.

Some other Friday options:

Silver Lakes - $94.36 with Cart for Friday, no restrictions on start time
*if we play here we'd recreate NS '07, the first year I came out. I only actually played Silver Lakes though. RA was the other course that year

St. Andrew's Valley - $94.36 with cart, Friday after 11am. Replay option $38.42, "standby only..."

Thoughts, preferences...Chime in please and thanks.

for the same money St Andrews is by far the better course ( and closer)............

bugs can carry you away at Silver Lakes as well

shocker that you would disagree..........check any ranking of courses

and Silver Lakes is built on a marsh so very buggy until september, if there is no wind.

I dont mind it and have played it 20 or 30 times over the years, but it is definitely not worth $95 St Andrews is a far better test and always better conditioned

hope your back is ok

It seems that we just sold our house. we accepted an offer and the closing date is....you guessed it...July 27. Sucks that I can't come...(again)....****.

Congrats on selling your home. Too bad you can't make it again this year...if you can make it down later in the summer, I'm sure myself, spuzzard and a couple others will make some time for you...

Sorry, LP42...not sure who'll be buying you drinks now.
