I don't know if it is from over working in practicing on the indoor mat, or just hitting to many balls or what, but I am having problems with my left upper forearm (close to my elbow) which makes it hard to grip and swing the club sometimes.

So the magnets work? If so, which ones??

What else is out there?

I am already using the elbow/forearm brace that puts pressure on the problem area..

Thanks,

Newman

First thing is determining if it is tendonitis, or tendonosis. http://www.freegolfinfo.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=2493760 They are different, and the treatments are different.

For my tendonosis the best treatment I've found is massage to break up the scar tissue/calcification, lots of stretching, maybe alternating heat and ice packs, and making sure I am well hydrated.

If it is tendonitis then the usual rest/ice/NSAID therapy.

Over the years I've had a lot of pain in my right elbow (tennis elbow) from golf. Tried a lot of different things and the one thing that helped was the Tyler Twist exercise with a flexbar. Very simple, takes five minutes a day, and very effective for me. You can get a flexbar on Amazon for about $20. Here's a LINK to one of many articles. There are actually two different exercises, one for pain on the outside elbow (tennis) and one for pain on the inside elbow (golf). This has really helped and for the most part my pain is completely gone. If I do have a flare-up I just go back to the excercises and the pain goes away after a day or two.

It's probably epicondilitis - the doctor's term for over-use syndrom or tennis/golfer's elbow. The ends of the ligaments that attach those muscles to the bone, are fraying and are inflamed, causing the pain. It's either medial or collateral or both (yuk!). Google it for more detail. I had the problem for over a year. Ibuprofen, ice, heat and a brace took care of it, but it took over 6 months to finally get rid of it because I wouldn't stop playing golf! The recommended treatment was the ice, heat, ibuprofen, brace and REST.

Anyone ever tried that remedy where you drink a little baking soda mixed into water? Supposed to help balance your pH and reduce pain from tendonitus, arthritus, etc. Forget where I read about that, but always thought about trying it as I've had the pain flare up a bit even in the winter when I'm not playing golf.

It works great when you use the solution to wash down 800mg of Advil.....

Had it so bad a few years back that I couldn't lift a tap to turn the water on... Was about to give up the game and decided to try one more thing with about a week to go before the start of the season... Tried low level laser therapy... Three treatments in one week and I was swinging a club by the time course opened...

That was an out 5 years ago... Hasn't really othered me until a few months ago and a big Reno job with plenty of hammering and screwing (real screws, real screw gun) has pretty much pt me back to where it was before... I have a more things to do to screw it up in next two weeks but will be heading off for some LLLT sessions as soon as I do finish them...

I fully expect to play 80+ rounds this year... But that wonT be possible unless I go through these treatments... I've done the magnet thing and it just isnt as good IMO
