How much for the whole deal: shotmaker insert? installation kit? Also, if you had a clubmaker/dealer do it for you, how much? Thanks.

Looks like $150.00, wow. They better work. If they are approved by the USGA, are any pros using them?

PRICE The insert alone I believe is $99. Not sure what a dealer would charge, couldn't be too much, only takes a couple mins. to do the whole job.

ORIGINAL: stk Looks like $150.00, wow. They better work. If they are approved by the USGA, are any pros using them? My guess is they work. Michael Cheng (a borderline genius) has always preached a low torque, stiff tip philosophy for as long as I can remember. Always had successful demos at the PGA show proving that. The fact that this insert can combine that philosophy with a lively shaft (like a YS-6, Dyno's fav) sounds like a winner to me. We haven't carried Harrison for 8 or so years, but we're looking into this right now. I'm more than intrigued. With technology as it's basic peak, what is $150 to improve your driving? 40% is stretching it no doubt, but who wouldn't pay $150 for even 10%? I noticed Golfwrx is head up about it - and there are respected clubmakers (like Awalkspoiled) that swear by it.

Someone enlighten me, please. This cannot possibly work in all shafts, correct? For example, Rory's new shaft he is touting; supposedly already up to 30% longer and a lot less dispersion than anything else. Why won't shaft mfgrs. now start making shafts that will negate the need for this device? "The fact that this insert can combine that philosophy with a lively shaft (like a YS-6, Dyno's fav) sounds like a winner to me." But will this device change the dynamics of that shaft to the point it no longer works as it was designed? Would it not be less 'lively'?

IMO it can only improve the dynamics of an already quality/lively/ etc. shaft, do to the fact it tends to make the shaft a little more stable and less likely to distort or vibrate thru impact. Gave a much smoother feel to my Saga after I installed the insert. Also later on,I might try checking the FLO of different shafts w/wo the insert.
