As a few may remember(not) I was laid up in Feb '08 due to a hernia of a stoma sight that I had repaired in '06 and as I told our friend Rales (because he went thru something similar) I thought I'd be back in. Well it has happened, the sight has re-herniated and I now have a softball sticking out of me in basically the same spot just a tad higher. I go in Friday morning to have it patched up again and will be laid up in the 'spital for a couple days. Hopefully I'll get out sometime Saturday afternoon. Anyway, just thought I'd say to raise one for me Friday night and I'll be back soon as possible (like it matters).

Landon, let us know how it goes for you. I am currently recovering from my takedown surgery myself. The doc closed the stoma site with a skin graft from a cadaver to reinforce it. I asked about Kevlar, but he said this was better. No golf for me for two months. I'll be interested to hear how they fix your hernia and what they use. Good luck!

Sounds like someone looking for a good excuse to be pampered by some smoking hot nurses. That sounds a little extreme to me. But hey, whatever floats your boat Landon.

Get better and take it easy this time!!!!!!

I was having slight shooting pains in the area where the stoma used to be yesterday. Think I pulled something. I'd hate to have to go through something like that again!

My stoma site was allowed to close on its own. They sewed it up down inside, but the rest was basically an open wound minus the stoma. After about 2 weeks a real bad infection set in and I had to have a nurse come twice a day to pack the wound and flush it out. I got to where I could do it myself after a week or so. At one point could jab about 18 inches of the (forget the name) strip they packed into me. Looked nasty coming out.

Hope you heal up well too pingdog. I could not imagine that I would ever feel "normal" after all of the surgeries I had last year. 1) emergency surgery to remove ruptured section of intestine..10 inch incision right down my belly. 2) takedown surgery to reattach everything and get rid of the poop bag. 3) hernia surgery right before christmas. They used a mesh to fix mine. Other than one hangin lower now I don't notice!

All of that and I can still do everything I could do before. Good luck both of you guys.
