http://www.freegolfinfo.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=2495637 Umm...we're right here thank you very much. A better question would be: where are all the Michelle Wie haters now? With Tiger winning this week as well it has to be a sad day in the world of golf for some people on this board. Congrats Michelle on your first LPGA victory!!! Congrats Tiger on your 82nd worldwide victory!!!

Congrats to Ms. Wie! All of you are missing the point of my original thread. I have ALWAYS stated that Ms.Wie belonged on the LPGA tour. She just never belonged the PGA tour and deserved taking exemptions away from men. She has proven this point in spades.

When she first started competing in PGA events I originally didn't have a problem w/it. Annika showed that a top ranked female (with sufficient length) is capable of competing in a PGA event w/out embarrassing herself or being embarrassed. But it pretty much begins and ends right there. If Michelle wanted to see where her game stacked up against the very best I was OK w/it. However, once that was established she should have gone back to where she could enjoy the most success (i.e. win). There were too many enablers around her, and she was a little too young and naive, for that to happen quickly. I think she has seen now that winning on ANY professional tour is difficult. I applaud her win and wish her many more in the future.

The sickness in her handlers pushing the PGA events was not in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd times; "see the big game," "learn something", "stretch". The pathetic, bitter, stupid, insufferable acts were during the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th; was there nine? After so many missed cuts and obviously leading to many other problems on HER tour. Pro sport is to win. She is finally there, about three years later than could have been. Forever part of the legacy: they ruined her phenom era. Winning LPGA | Lady pro at 20 is typical; even a year later than typical (Pressel, Shin, Creamer, Miyazato, et al). Hope for her and the LPGA that the second part of the legacy is many WINS.

Congrates to Michelle Wie: No one can argue her ball striking skills but I thought it would be a couple of more years of frustration for her (and us - UHG) since her mental toughness is not the greatest and winning at the highest level takes both. I was wrong! Now, as far as Wie saving the LPGA, I think it is a long shot. I really enjoyed watching the girls play this week. Perhaps what they need to do to improve TV ratings is play during the PGA and Senior "off seasons" If I was the LPGA commish, I would seriously give this idea some thought.

Mr. Bartsch: For all the hard times I've given you in the past, I must say "good post!" I think her short game & putting seemed to improve after the Solheim Cup, and I suspect playing with Christie Kerr in the final group helped, as Kerr and she seemed to bond at the SC. But regardless of who she played with, she still had to hit the shots and she did. Good for her! quote:
