As a tourist and not a golfer.

That being said...it's pretty cool to be able to park the car, load Rales jr into the stroller and walk right up to the green of one of the most famous holes in all of golf.

The 18th at Pebble Beach.

My son is:
1. Mooning the lucky/rich golfers as they approach the 18th green.

2. Paying proper respect to Pebble Beach.

3. Dropping a deuce.

4. Bowing at Mrs. Rales' feet like daddy does (because daddy's a lucky SOB)

Answer (1, 2 and 4). He dropped the deuce a few hours later at Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey.

AT&T winners plaque.

I saw Payne play in this tournament. Not sure who that guy "Tiger Woo" is. Probably from the Asian tour.

Practice green at Pebble.

Lucky bastages teeing off on #1. I didn't get too close as Rales jr was getting tired of being cooped up in the stroller and was making it known to everybody within earshot.

The Lone Cypress is a California icon and located just up the beach from Pebble.

The 2010 Open logo featuring the lone cypress.

My boy and I. He's signing "please" with his left hand because Mrs. Rales had a bottle for him in her hand when she took this picture.

In all it was a beautiful day in Monterey with my wife and son. It was also nice to dodge the 106* heat here in Fresno.

I don't think the hook off of #1 tee box would work very well!

Beautiful pictures and a beautiful family.

I was noticing that of the 22 winners on that plaque (not including the win by "rained out" in 96 and Rales in 2009), 11 of those wins came from 4 different golfers (O'Meara 4, Mickelson 3, Miller 2, Love III 2). Horses for courses.

This post got me excited. My wife and I both turned 40 this year and we are heading to Monterey/Pebble in October to celebrate. I am playing at Pebble and cannot wait. Overpriced, yes, but what the heck.
