Many friends that I play with at my club in Pennsylvania trust my creations. They all LOVE the SMT 455 with the HTD CB Pro 60 shafts. One of the players is a 4-time club champion. He removed an R7 this spring and has never looked back. I just built a Bang Storm with a Limey 440-S for a current SMT 455 guy. He hates it. He pushed everything. I figured it was just him so I put in an hour of range time with this club. The shaft just plain feels “boardy”. I felt NO load/unload. Guys I am not just trying to be the blog-jerk. I am very disappointed with the feel of this shaft. I asked our 4-time club champion to hit it. He didn’t like the feel of the shaft either. The 440 S CPMed at 247. This doesn’t seem like an “oddball X” stamped “S”. I just thought clubmakers should hear an other opinion.

The Limey is just an average shaft in my opinion... I can't quite figure out what all the Hype is about.

Graman delivers a fine product with the limeys. While they are not in the same league as the Accras, $33.00 is a very good price for a shaft of this consistency. I am particulary sensitive to shafts that are too tip soft and torquey and I definitely had no issues with the 440 even though it supposedly plays softer than some of the other models. Tons of carry...

Your results are proof positive that every person sees things differently...what's stiff for some is soft for others...etc. The UL440 has very mild flex charactoristics compared to others with the same "declared" stiffness. Profiling this shaft against others shows a soft tip smooth feel.... But then again there could have been an abnormality on this...or maybe flo'd wrong?

I think they are just Graman TP's with a paint job( good marketing on a proven shaft),so if you don't like the limey color, try a TP. Way too many positive reviews to discount it's effectiveness.Seems to be one of those shafts for the masses. One of these days .....well I still don't like the color so I'll stick with the TP.

Appreciate the honesty, I've been wanting to try a 440S and I'm sure I still will. You just can't get past "feel" as the prominent factor in shaft selection. If a shaft doesn't give the player what they feel is the proper feedback, they just can't get past it. Its the "Mojo" and if it ain't workin', it ain't workin'.

Just a note on the TP. According to longstick he was getting a lot of them with bent tips. Hopefully that has been corrected. also, I'm glad to see a contrary opinion on the limey 440, thanks for the input.

I much prefer the 540 to the 440, mainly because of the weight. That being said, to say the 440 feels " boardy " is rather odd.

That's the first time I've heard the 440 described as being "boardy."

I haven't tried the 440 but I had the opposite experience with he 540. The R flex was too soft, which I did not expect for my low/mid 90's swing speed. I suppose the S flex might be fine for me (like the S flex YS-6). People make fun of the YS-6 for being soft but I'd have to put the Limey 540 almost in the same category. Probably not a bad shaft when you get the flex right but, IMO, highly overrated.

Markin,,,, For Me,,,, I disagree and this is where the "Everyone has their own Feel".... feel really is in the top 3,,,, but again for me,,, Performance is KIng.. and for me,,, the Limey was an OK shaft.
