Finally got out for 18 yesterday I really like this driver. I hit some really nice mid flight draws with it. Fades mid/high with a strong flight and low spin. The ball really seems to bound forward when it hits the fairway.
The Tour hybrids are nice as well. For me they launch on a mid flight and I can really get them low if I want to. Which is good cause hybrids usually go very high for me.
I actually got in contact with Mark Masters from Golfworks and asked if I could get a ST1 hand picked with a open face angle. Mark got with Pete Calloway and he found a head that is just over a 1/2*open.
While I had Mark on the phone I asked him if he had any AXE shafts on sale. He said that he did. They would be the paint scheme silver with the red/blood tip. I went ahead and ordered a few of those at $20 a piece.
Today the temperature was right around 45*and the sun was out. Perfect day for a guy to get out and golf as a single. I show up and nobody at the course. There might have been 6 cars there.
I really like the looks of this driver. Not flashy at all and the face angle seems to fit my eye fine. The sound is not loud by any means which is pleasing. After a good drive you don't think about getting hearing protection. Hit some really nice drives with it today and put it on the fringe of a 330 yard par 4. I usually play my drivers at 44 1/2." I built this one to 45" and every time I hit it the contact was in dead center of the face. I will probably leave it at this length until it misbehaves then I will cut it down
I also built up a KE4 Tour 7 iron. Stuck my KBS C Taper in it and really liked what I was getting with this as well. Extremely solid feel with a mid to mid/high flight.
Played in just under 3 hours walking. I love this time of year for golf. You can get out there and enjoy yourself without a 4 or 5 hour round.
